conditions

Hip Arthritis

Often called wear and tear of the hip, hip arthritis is the most common cause of lasting hip and groin pain in adults over 50. The reassuring part: there's a lot that can be done at every stage, long before, and often instead of, a replacement.

conditions

Knee Arthritis

If your knees protest on the stairs or after a walk, arthritis is the usual culprit and the most common reason people come to see Mr Oni. There's plenty that helps before surgery is ever on the table, from injections to robotic-assisted replacement.

conditions

Hip Bursitis

That sharp pain on the outside of the hip - the kind that flares climbing stairs or lying on that side at night - is often bursitis rather than the joint itself. Once it's correctly diagnosed, it usually settles without surgery.

conditions

Meniscal Tears

The cushioning cartilage in the knee can tear from one awkward twist or simply years of use. Leaving you with pain, clicking, or a knee that catches or locks. Keyhole surgery is often a straightforward fix, when it's the right call for you.

conditions

Runner's Knee

Nagging pain at the front of the knee that bites when you run, squat or take the stairs - common in active people and stubbornly persistent. The good news: it rarely needs an operation and usually settles with the right guidance.

conditions

Pain After Hip Replacement

A hip replacement is meant to end the pain, so when it doesn't, or the hip feels unstable, it's worrying and exhausting. This is exactly the kind of complex case Mr Oni has expert knowledge of as regional lead for the revision hip service at East Kent Hospitals.

Mr Oni explained everything clearly and the whole process was faultless. I was walking the corridors within two days and driving again in a fortnight. The scar is so neat you can hardly see it.

Mr Oni and the team were very professional throughout. The recovery was tough, but I stuck to the exercises and only needed over-the-counter painkillers. Two months on, I completed a nine-mile bike ride.

Mr Oni recommended the Arthrosamid injection and everything has been brilliant. Two weeks later I was rotovating the garden for two hours. It felt like some sort of miracle, I didn't notice I'd had bad knees.

Frequently asked questions

Most patients can book a consultation directly, without a GP referral. If you're using private medical insurance, your insurer may ask for one first.

Not necessarily. Surgery is never the starting point. Mr Oni explores non-surgical options first, such as physiotherapy and injections, and only recommends surgery when it's genuinely the best option for you.

Initial consultations are £250. Ongoing costs depend on your diagnosis and the treatment you need. Mr Oni treats both privately insured and self-funding patients, with clear pricing agreed before anything goes ahead.

Mr Oni is recognised by the major private medical insurers, including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, WPA, Healix and Cigna, and also treats self-funding patients.

Yes. Mr Oni welcomes patients seeking a second opinion on a diagnosis or proposed treatment, and you can book directly without a GP referral.

Mr Oni offers prompt appointments, typically within two weeks, so you're not left waiting for answers and can start a treatment plan sooner.
